Pacquiao inks 7-fight deal with ‘Golden Boy’
Filipino boxing icon Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao has signed a seven-fight deal with Golden Boy Promotions of American boxer Oscar “Golden Boy” de la Hoya, TV Patrol World reported Tuesday.
Freddie Roach, Pacquiao’s American coach and trainer, confirmed the news in a telephone interview. He said that the Filipino pug met with de la Hoya after arriving in Los Angeles.
“Yes, Manny has signed a 7-fight deal with Golden Boy Promotions,” Roach said.
Roach added that Pacquiao received a fat signing bonus. He declined to say how much the boxer got. Reports, however, said the amount could be $300,000 (P15 million).
